Rtings.com has this model slightly higher rated than the Sony. The main differences appear to be that this has a better HDR brightness rating and they rated this LG's smart features better. Your Sony model in particular is an entry level, budget Sony TV from 2017. This LG is a great price for a decently rated low end 65 inch. If you're looking for a cheap 65 inch this would be a decent choice.

I'm biased towards Sony because I think the cheaper models of the Korean brands don't have as high quality of components as Sony, however it would be very difficult to find any 65 inch Sony near this price if price is most important to you.

How does LG compared to Vizio and TCL at this price range? From what I've read, LG isn't the best unless it's OLED.

I'd recommend spending an extra $100 and going with the 65" H8F

Same price at Costco on this. Was eyeballing this one but the colors don't pop as much as the Vizio.

It's a low end 65". It's entirely possible your Sony has much better picture quality even if it's a few years old. What model is your Sony?

the problem with Hisense and TCL is it's a crap-shoot on quality. Some of the reviews on walmart are downright scary

Model KD-55X720E. The quality looks pretty good. I was wondering how it compares to this deal.

I love my lg but it is one of the models that has va panel. I had another lg with the other screen and returned it because of greyness on screen and colors seemed dull and not that bright

With just 60 refresh rate does this LG this picture stutter while watching football baseball etc.. IS that fasdt enght to warrant going with this instead of a true 120? says 60 with Motion Enhancement Technology TruMotion 120. TV experts what sayeth thee?
