Thanks for the info. Have supported Norton products since their overhaul 10 years ago but their account/payment/subscription policies have become too onerous for me to continue with them.

The Amazon page says the following, but it's unclear what exactly this means:
PRE-PAID SUBSCRIPTION A payment method must be saved in your Norton account to activate* you won't be charged until the prepaid term ends. For new Norton subscriptions only at an introductory price.

It sounds to me like when the term is up, it will auto-renew. Does anyone know if this is correct?

About the "new Norton subscriptions": Does this refer to any Norton subscription? Or a Norton subscription for "Norton 360 Deluxe "?

As someone else mentioned, I've used Norton for close to 10 years, but am about to switch to something else because I'm tired of all the ways they try to screw you over. Their rebates started having a lot more problems, and now this auto-renew business.

It appears that Norton has changed up their requirement to an automatic renewal and future renewals will not be discounted. They do let you cancel service but no prorated refund on the unused months remaining So you get a one time discount and from then on pay retail pricing on future automatic renewals. Thumbs Down to Norton

Confused w Norton. Let's say I purchased 10 licenses. Laptop A's 1 year license is about to expire. Can I use one of the remaining 9 Licenses to renew? Anyone know how this would work? TIA!

Deal still good as of today Dec 3rd on amazon's website but a few (hopefully!) helpful tips.. hopefully slickdeal's website will let me post these links below, if not send me a message or quote my reply and repost saying "hey weblinks not working! " Stick Out Tongue

https://support.norton.com/sp/en/...quick_help

so according to that weblink you should be able to go into settings and turn off auto renew though I would strongly recommend using whatever automated scheduling computer/android thing you have (outlook on Windows, scheduler on your phone) to keep an eye on the device it's installed on one month before it expires (you'd want to do that anyways so you know your protection is about to expire) in case you're billed anyways.

I've found their live chat agents to be super helpful , googling norton/symantec live chat should help you here.. have your product key ready and do the live chat thing if you have to in order to get auto renew turned off.

https://www.lovemoney.com/news/86...wal-system

Note in the web link above the author was blissfully unaware that the product auto renewed so now you're in a better position than she was Wink .. having said that note what the author says about " Norton's spokesperson was quick to point out its 60-day refund option on auto-renewals, yet this 'get out clause' is printed in tiny small print at the bottom of its emails." .. so it would appear if you do forget and notice the bill and do the online chat thing and protest ASAP you can get a refund. Also they may offer a refund cutting the price significantly just to get you to stay (again see article above). Always, always ask for a case number when talking to norton chat agents in case they can generate one for you and make note of it in case you need it in the future.

Huge headache I know.. internet buzz seems to indicate norton (and other anti virus / firewall providers too so even if you go non-norton you're still out of luck UNLESS you are proactive and disable that autno renew IMMEDIATELY as soon as you install it) is now heavily pushing this auto renew thing no matter what (thanks norton) but they're still cheap when on sale and effective for the money so worth the headache for me.

Alternative - in my opinion not as good as norton and definitely not as great of a deal but still fairly effective and dirt cheap given it's unlimited devices for one year including android, apple products

https://www.officedepot.com/a/products/508133/McAfee-LiveSafe-For-PC-Apple-Mac/?cm_mmc=PLA-_-Google-... [officedepot.com]

office depot mcafee livesafe .. just walk into your local office depot store and grab a card or do the online order download code thing (kind of disappointed it's $7 this year vs the $5 last year but still a good deal for what you're getting).
