Just a tip. Almost every year, there are BF deals on food saver. After the holiday sales, left over stocks go on clearance at a ridiculously low price (and, no it's not that hard to score these because they are not high on demand). For example, WM had a bunch of left over food saver from previous BF sales. I bought 2 and paid like only $20 each, I think. So, if you are not in a hurry, I'd wait.

Love this model, very helpful! Definitely recommend ..... Though it is the only vacuum sealer I've used, I'm very happy with it.

Ours just died. It was one that had a marinate function. We use the clear marinator with the air hose on the marinate setting. Does this one have the marinate function? I'm having a hard time finding a slickdeal on one with that setting..... maybe I'll wait till after Xmas

I have the FM2000, which is just like the GM2060, and I don't know of any special "marinate" feature on the unit itself. What it does have is an accessory port and a little hose, which you can connect to the Food Saver containers, some of which have a marinate setting/feature (I have one of those, too, and they work pretty well).

In other words, I think this will do what your other one did based on your description.

By the way, I think I actually use the container more for tortilla chips from Chipotle than I do for marinating. It's awesome for keeping those fresh.

I got that $20 deal a couple of years ago at WM. Each unit also had extra bags included which were by themselves worth more than $20. I bought six of them.

I bought a dud, something like 6 months ago. Works once, then doesn't for 3 or 4 next seals. Even those packs that got sealed, are full of air in the freezer. I got tired of trying, so it's just sitting unused. Had a lot of hope for this item. Oh well.

How soon after BF? Looking to get one ASAP and might pull the trigger on the Anova vacuum sealer for $50 on amazon but I can wait a couple more days if there's a chance of picking up a Food Saver vacuum sealer for $20

It would be different each year, but here's the last year's thread as a reference. I hope this helps.
