Update: I just called and they have it Now at my local restaurant here in Orange County, SoCal. I'll be there after work.

Is this one of those things where you "buy" something from a corporation and the corporation gets to file the tax write off for charity instead of you?

*I learned recently that's what happens when during checkout at cashiers at big stores if you want to donate $1 or $2 for XYZ charity, and what's happening is, you don't get tax write off, the company that's doing it does...

Most likely. I think that Wendy's will write off the cost of each Frosty that is claimed instead of you writing it off which makes sense because you aren't making Frostys

My local Wendy's rings up the "free" Frosty at $1.50 each with a $1.50 off making it free. So every frosty is a $1.50 tax write off for them. At least I get a few spoonfuls of Frosty out of it I guess.

As long as the charity gets it, I'm fine. What I don't like is the high "admin" fee for certain charities.

I used mine so much this year, that They just give me the frosty without even asking or having the key fob. In fact I lost mine sometime this summer.

Same to me, I just told them I have the key chain. They all know my name even employees at different shifts because I'm visiting them at least once a week. They're just less than a mile away from my work.

Just a reminder you can get it now in store.

FYI, bring cash to buy it because they don't take credit card and put them in a separate purse/bag. And it's still $2.

Getting a Frosty is always a good thing to do, but this time of year, it's also the right thing to do.
ORDER NOW
*Limited time only at participating U.S. Wendy's. 85% of every Frosty Key Tag sold between 11/25/19-1/31/20 will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption. Key tag price may vary in select markets. Key Tags valid from 1/1/2020–12/31/2020. One free Jr. Frosty per visit with any purchase.

Thanks, just used to buy two.

The first page (your link) says tags are valid through Dec 31, 2020.

However, AFTER checking out, it says:

Key Tags are valid until 12/31/19

*sigh* now I gotta contact them to confirm the Tags are valid for a year.

Odd ..... or lack of oversight (?)

I fail to see the problem here. I'm donating $2 to charity. I'm cheap (and proud of it) but, not so cheap I'm going to worry about writing off $2, especially since I'll be getting much more than $2 value from it.

And for those who are interested;
85% of every Frosty Key Tag sold will benefit the Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption.
