Home Depot is running a Free Tool Promotion right now.

The beauty of this deal is that I needed one (or two) new batteries.

So I bought the Battery Kit ($149 - NOW $129) and received the 2-Pack of 4.0Ah Batteries ($99 - NOW $79) for "free."

The discount was prorated across the Battery Kit and Batteries so I was able to return the Battery Kit and the net cost for the 2-Pack of 4.0Ah batteries was $59.48 NOW $49.00.

Two 4.0Ah batteries for $59 - NOW $49!!

Those are the old 4ah batteries. Theyre not the HP ones. They're not even the lithium+ version. These are junk.
You fell for it and got taken! Now, you're encouraging others to be a fool like you

I'm sorry, but you have no idea what you're talking about. If you bother to go through the SDS, you'll find that these black 4AHs are BETTER than the grey non-HP 4AHs (Lithium+). The black 4AHs have high-drain cells rated at 30A each while the grey 4AH non-HPs have 15A cells. So the black 4AHs are capable of delivering twice the power output of the grey 4AH non-HPs.

I personally prefer the black 4AHs even over the 4AH HPs since I already have a few 3AH HPs for my Brushless non-lawn tools, which are the only tools where HP makes a difference. For my extensive collection of brushed tools and brushed/brushless lawn tools, the 4AH HPs are worse than the black 4AH non-HPs since all they do is add unnecessary weight.

You have no idea how wrong you are. Go try to trolling somewhere else.

True: These are not the HP batteries.

Complete BS: These are not the old batteries as you claim. These are in between the old batteries and the HP. They use the same exact upgraded cells as the HP batteries. BUT... They use the old PCB and don't have the extra terminal that the HP batteries use.

In the end: These are better than the old batteries by a small margin, but they will not behave the same as the HP. Still a very good set of batteries at a pretty good price.

A more apt name then 'return trick' would just be fraud.

Nope, these are 18v. That requires 40V. Sorry.

Right. I have the same question. It's this fraud against home Depot?

Why? HD makes it very easy to do this without any fraud. If HD cared, they would bundle everything at one price and not pro-rate each one.

ok do this if you feel guilty.
Set the store of choice to PICK UP the battery

and set the tool kit to a different store that you WILL NOT pick up from

once the pickup window expires, you'll automatically get refunded for the tool kit and no1 will have to see your face

you are saying that this deal is so great bc the 2 pack of 4aH batteries are on sale for $99 so when you do the return trick for the free tool promo, that the final price of them is $59

i am telling you (2) things

1) the return trick is well known, nothing special. it doesn't need to be its own SD post
2) the 2 pack of 4aH batteries, the old version regular price, is $99
Speak for yourself. I've never heard of this return trick.
