Why not just use your gaming laptop at home? Or are you planning to return that and just use a gaming desktop?

I got this for about $600 after cashback: https://slickdeals.net/f/13500133-lenovo-ideacenter-desktop-t540-intel-core-i5-16gb-ram-256gb-ssd-nvidia-gtx-1660-ti-for-699-99-ac?src=SiteSearchV2_SearchBarV2Algo1 It's not available anymore, but it will give you a good idea of what a solid deal looks like. I'm sure you can find something on Black Friday or Cyber Monday that will give you those specs and then some. It didn't come with a monitor (I didn't need one) and they can often be pretty expensive depending on how nice of one you want.

There's a few threads over in the BF forum. Here's an example:

I'd also suggest doing a build yourself if you have the technical ability. You can find parts on sale and put something together on the cheap. If you're uncomfortable there are tons of online tutorials and sites (reddit, etc.) to help -- and it's good experience to have.
