What was your total after coupons? I remember the GM deal you couldn't have a zero total, if you did then you wouldn't get the $ oyno.

Just back from Family Dollar. The Balsams rang up $3.50 each (I got the dark blonde variety), although I did get the $2 FD coupon. The jello vanilla pudding worked great ($3 for 3, and I got the $3 FD coupon). I tried to use a $3 off $15 IPQ along with the $5 Clairol coupon and a $5 FD coupon from the previous Suddenly Salad deal. No matter what the cashier did, the $3 coupon (which has an exp. date in 2014) would not come off, and she said that she cannot manually put it through. I gave the $3 off $15 first (my subtotal was $17.05) but no matter which order she scanned the coupons, the $3 Q would not work at all.

That coupon states that your total must be $15.00 AFTER coupons, not before. Family Dollar is very.. unusual. Best to read everything with them -- or you'll end up very frustrated.

WHERE ARE YOU? If you only post "I WENT TO MY LOCAL STORE and..." and you do not indicate the city/location of that store and your location is not in your profile so that it displays under your screen name, your post IS NOT HELPFUL at all. SO, PLEASE IDENTIFY YOUR LOCATION! Or take your post off to the appropriate blog. Thank You.

I'm not sure why you were thinking that coupon would work in that transaction? If you read that coupon, it clearly states that your total must be $15.00 AFTER coupons, not before.
What I got from her post was that she even tried having it scanned while she still owed $17.05 & it wouldn't even go through then?

I read it that her subtotal before the other coupons was $17.05 -- she does state she gave it first -- so presumably that would be the subtotal then?

It should have worked if she gave it while she still owed $17, right? Or am I too tired & completely missing something? Lol

It wouldn't work unless her subtotal after all other coupons was more than $15

Right, but at the point of trying to scan the $3 q, the computer has no idea that she has other coupons so it should have taken.

It was scanned -- the system doesn't actually deduct it until a final total is reached. It's like the 20% off coupons at CVS -- doesn't matter when you scan it -- it doesn't "finally" apply until the very end - -it's lurking and pending until then.

Gotcha! Knew I had to be missing something, thank you for sticking with me & explaining lol

The Family Dollar q doesn't start until 07/14/13...this time they are getting smarter and put a valid date on the qs...plus you need to pay at least 1.00 before another FD q print again.

we are talking about the $3/$15 coupon, not the Family Dollar $3 wyb qualifying products
