DEWALT DCS520B FLEXVOLT 60V MAX 6-1/2 in. Cordless TRACKSAW (Tool Only) $252.35

CPO Outlets is selling the tracksaw bare tool on sale at NewEgg.
I'm only seeing 350+ elsewhere, so seems like a steal.
Just upgraded my storage and tablesaw table so I figured I'd share it with the rest of you. Keep in mind the bare tool will not come with tracks or a battery.

Tracksaws are nice to have if you work with sheet goods.
Battery tracksaws are even better if you work with sheet goods and don't have a truck or trailer to transport them with.
Tracksaws can also be used to joint edges of rough-sawn lumber

FYI: This Dewalt track saw uses a proprietary rail. You can't use it for other track saws, and you can't use other track saw rails for it.

Makita, Festool, Wen, and a number of other tracksaw MFRs can use the same tracks.

I wouldn't bother trying to roll your own. At the "all in" numbers you mentioned, the Makita one is worth a look instead (I think it's generally more well-liked, plus it doesn't use a proprietary rail like the Dewalt):

Comes with a rail, and two sets of batteries for $499 - $25 off coupon.
I have found a lot of use for mine and it has almost replaced my table saw. They really are ingenious little devices. I'm using a plug in Makita version. I just need to get another 4 feet of track so I can do a whole rip of plywood. I just used mine today to break down a sheet of Baltic birch to replace an Ikea desktop.

Yep - I expect my table saw to be relegated to dado duty and small repetitive rips.

I plan to build a Festool MFT style top for work holding and cross cutting. One of my big hurdles has been the ability to safely crosscut deep panels for cabinets

I used mine to cut through 1-1/2" thick butcher block countertop. It worked great.

👍 I just saw a clip of a guy use it on 1.75" white oak with a mafell dust bag on it. Did a really good job collecting the dust, and made a very clean cut in the oak
