looking into these rings more but they require a subscription to look at past events??? ugh don't want another monthly bill to pay

So my issue with smart doorbells is that I would like to have an auto feed come up whenever motion is detected on it, or someone rings the bell. I've seen ways of using 3rd party apps and using android devices to get this to work. But when I get a notification on my echo that someone has rung the bell, then after that walk over to the device and ask Alexa to pull up doorbell. It's just not practical. Now if someone rings and it pops up auto, now that helpful! Because I can see across the room who it is, quickly.

Not to mention the police has access to these recordings so they'll be watching you as well.

You can also go to the page for the Sandstone colored Echo Show on bestbuy.com and get the same deal, which is what I was looking for.

It's 3$/month for one device. You gotta store the date on the cloud somewhere and cloud space isn't free. Sure I wish it was free but it's a service and they would lose money giving it away for free

Would be worth it if it did 24/7 recording like the Nest. But it only does clips. That should be free like other clip recording cameras. See Wyze Cam and Blink.

The way around this is easy. Do not use the Ring Neighbors app under any circumstances. If you already started using it, I'm not sure how you get out of this, probably need to do more than simply uninstalling it.

Its $30 per year (or $3 per month) per camera. $100 / year or ($10 / month) for unlimited.

And this is a required cost unless you want to download all your videos within 60 days. The eufy Doorbell which has been featured on here a number of times seems to be better in just about every way [justclickappliances.com] aside from having the battery power option.

However, this is a good deal if you're looking for a show // want to be in the Ring ecosystem.
