Please note that when considering this offer, keep in mind that these seats are basic economy seats (which is a lower class ticket than the regular economy seats). So with the $97 price, you cannot choose your seats (so families won't be able to sit together), you can't have a carryon bag in the overhead compartment, you can't have a checked bag without paying a fee, and ticket changes are not allowed.

Just buy a ticket, grab a seat on a popular flight and be the first to let them buy you off the flight when it's overbooked. You'll be able to buy a first class ticket with the $800 they'll offer. So stupid they overbook and then lose money buying people off the flight, but good for us!

Also UA economy seats are some of the smallest I've been in. I'm about 6' medium build and my knees push up against the seat back.

Their legroom is so sparse you'll prefer being beaten up and dragged off the plane instead.

If you have a United MileagePlus credit card and book this flight, you can bring both a carry-on and checked bag, and you will still get priority seating. The only thing you can't do is pick your seat.

Too bad it's United. Would be a good deal otherwise.

Not on basic economy. Even a person who is 1k can't pick a seat or check bags in basic Econ.
