The $200 is also good on the HD version which matches the (previous) Best Buy price. I may drag my feet on this one for a while - the BB version I bought is safely tucked in it's box, ready to return if a better deal pops up in the next week.

Note that delivery of several options on this are mid-December. Also, on the HP site (vs BB) you can choose your color (for extra cash, of course) and also upgrade to the tilt-capable pen for $35.

Decent specs with a great but too small of screen, and no discrete graphics would make this a hard pass.
Optane on this system seems like a waste. its got 16GB of RAM & SSD already.

It's really rare that you'll need more than 16GB of RAM.

Agree. The 15% restocking fee on unopened items deserves a boycott of HP.com

If it wasn't for the 15% restocking fee this would be a reasonably good deal.

About the 15% restocking fee.. isn't it just for custom builds? If you ask them to build a laptop, it's completely reasonable for them to charge you a fee if you end up returning it after they spent time building it.

This is a "ready to ship" laptop, so I think no restocking fee.
