Buick Encore Preferred 40% off MSRP, net price under $15,000 with Costco Auto Program

Deal Extended to 1/2/2020!

With credit to JimiJames for his similar March 2018 post (some of which I've copied below), if you are in the market for CUV (compact utility vehicle), the 2019 Buick Encore Preferred model can be had for under 15K with some negotiation. The Buick Encore Preferred comes well equipped and the Safety package can be added for around $425.

For my specific deal I purchased a new 2019 Buick Encore in the Atlanta, GA area for 40% off of MSRP when including the $700 Costco Cash card that is currently offered to Executive Members on top of the $5,500 GM incentives offered through 1/2/20. You must finance at least $7,500 of the purchase price and own or lease a 2005 or newer non-Buick/GM car to obtain this deal. Even better deals can be had if you also trade in your current vehicle.

Details before tax, tag, registration: 2019 Buick Encore Preferred with Safety Package and all weather mats.

MSRP $26,735
Less GM Rebates: $ 5,500
Less Dealer Discount: $ 5,099
Less Executive Costco Cash Card: $ 700
Final Price: $15,436

Without Safety Package, & all weather mats, this would have come in below $15,000.

The Costco cash card requires that you complete registration and provide a dealership review. Along with the available rebates, this is a 42% ($11,300) savings from sticker price.

Costco rebate ($700 for Executive members and $300 for Gold or business members) details are here: https://www.costcoauto.com/promo . Check with the Costco Auto buying program for a participating dealership (I found that most Buick dealers in my area participate).

The dealer discount is obviously a big variable and requires negotiation, however several quotes from dealers in my area came in around the same price. Savings can also be realized on Enclave and Envision during their Buick Friday Sale. Feel free to PM me for dealer contact info if you are in the Atlanta area.

Act fast as January 2nd is the last day for these incentives and 2019 models with the most popular options are selling out.

This will not be a good lease. GM is pushing these as purchases, and thus the lease incentives are essentially non-existent. Incentives are different for leases versus purchases.

If you aren't having any luck getting your local dealerships to match the posted price, try this. Search on Autotrader.com or cargurus.com for new Encore's within 500 miles of your zip code and sort by Price. You should see several listed for below $15,000. Contact several of them and get a final quote. Some of them will probably indicate that their posted price requires a trade, but get the the best price for the incentives that you qualify for. Then go back to the other dealerships that you contacted and see if they can beat it. Keep working them until you get your best final price. Then contact your closest local dealerships one more time, thank them for your quote, and give them one last opportunity to beat your best price. This should get you close to the posted price for a nearby dealership.

Hmm, Interested in researching this a bit more. Curious were you found the GM Rebate amount, wonder if that is regional. Also wonder if I can upgrade my Costco day to Executive on day of purchase to take advantage of the additional $400. I would probably grab one of these in that $15-16k range. I see '15-16' models in our region with 40-60k selling for not much less than this ($12-14k).

I upgraded to Costco Executive membership the day before I purchased a new vehicle through their program a couple years ago so it can be done 👍

Buick's incentives note a $4,000 rebate, so the financing rebate would be the other $1,500. It doesn't appear to be regional.

Can this be replicated with cars other than Encore? Enclave for example

Looking at your MSRP, I'm guessing you got a FWD model with a Color Option (All colors except basic white looks like just under $500 additional), in addition to the Safety and Mats. Curious, what was the interest rate they gave you, and any early payoff penalty in the contract?

Was able to get in on this deal two weeks ago. Got a Buick Encore AWD Preferred (with remote start) in white for $13,773 (50% off sticker price). Dealer forced us to buy the Buick Appearance Guard package which includes wheel locks/paintless dent repair/key fob replacement which cost another $900. Advertised price required a non-GM trade-in and financing through GM Financial.

Vehicle was purchased at Robert Brogden Buick in Olathe, KS. They were advertising up to 50% off Encores. Was the only dealer in the area with the AWD option on the Preferred trim. They had 5 when I found the listing and they sold through them in a week. Seems like the 50% off models are mostly Sport Touring trim now.

Yes, I did get Quicksilver, which adds $495 to MSRP. White is the only color with no upcharge. The interest rate won't be great (mine was north of 5%) but you can pay it off and refinance after 3 months with no penalty.

they're the only ones buying buiks and cadillacs or hell anything GM makes. Everybody younger wants the superior value and quality of absolutely everything else other than chrysler. My next car will either be a tesla or a plugin hybrid.
To each his own, but our 2011 Buick Enclave has been and remains the most solid, quiet, most comfortable SUV based on our judgement, and the dozens who have been in it. Zero repairs but for one warranty tweak. Tesla and plug ins - to each his own. But real freedom involves petrol!
