Alright, this is my first thread so be gentle.

This is not my first rodeo with the Samsung Tab S4. Last week I had the stores price matching new Tab S4s to open box prices because the ones they sold me (online at a store location) all sudden were not in stock. Ended up with two of them for the price of a new one.

Today I went to a different store today to try my luck again. However when they were checking stock the price was showing $260. I thought that was open box and said something about it. The sales rep said that it was new in the box. I did not believe him so he plugged it into their store system and it showed as $260 in store, new. We were both shocked.

The catch was another store had, that store was out. I quickly rushed over there and talked to the samsung rep and store manager, they said that they had one new Tab S4. When the rep brought it back out he was telling me it was $450. I told him no, that it was $260. He said that was for open-box, i told him to scan the system and check. He did and got wide-eyed. He couldn't believe it, going on about how he needs to buy one. Then he and messaged all his friends about it.

Anyways take it as YMMV but have them check the price in store, in the system. Do not settle for the website and price tag.

Suddenly all the "android" tablets popped up, Tab A vs Tab S4 vs FireHD 10 vs Onn 10... Hard to choose them for price/performance just base on specifications.Confused

If that is what hillshire94 meant, then they did not read my last two sentences. Can't help everyone.

BTW if people need to convince themselves into buying a Tab A, Fire Tablet, or Onn vs. a better spec tablet with better features for a great price, then that is on them. To each their own.

You are so nice! Smilie

I have owned many tablets over the years. I currently have a Tab S3 that I got for $100 from Costco last year and it's great. It has a great screen: bright, hi-def, 4:3 aspect. It's also thin, lightweight, and fast. Prior to that I had a Tab A: 16:9 aspect, thick, heavy, fugly. I have also owned iPads and was not impressed. It is super important in any tablet to have at least 2GB of ram so that the web browser does not get choked up - and that's where my last iPad failed for me. When buying cheapie tablets avoid anything with less that 1.5GB of ram and 4 cores. I think tablets are a dying technology as phones and laptops are pinching their niche from either end. I owuld have said the same 2 years ago but they're still around.

Was the web site accurate for inventory? I don't have any near me showing same day pickup. Would love to get some of that AMOLED goodness for $260.

I was told you could order it in store and get that price. I know this because I asked that question before I went to the other store. However had I done that right then, it said my Tab S4 would be available for pick up on the 29th. I did not want to wait.

Thanks for the replies.Wave

Will probably pop into a Best Buy tomorrow to see if it is possible to get 1 at $260 or lower or opened box one. Not having too much luck purchasing some stuffs these days though. By the way, cannot find the information, but do Tab S4 have GPS? It is not one of those tablet that have one right?

Still, might get one of el cheapo one for light gaming, couple hours a day max, and light browsing and for on the go.

Another thing to keep in mind. The Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 is obviously on clearance pricing at Best Buy (in store). Best Buy is allowing returns until Jan. 24 (IIRC), that gives it even more time to go down in price possibly allowing for even more of a discount for those who buy/bought and want to put in a little work (possibly). Food for thought...

Only through WiFi, I believe. The LTE version has GPS but it is also not discounted (yet).
