How do you know this? Can you provide more information?

..... if you are talking about the Black Friday thread that calls out the 1199 pricing, that is a starting price and is for the 8GB version with 256GB SSD, not 16GB and 512GB SSD like this model has.

BEWARE! HP.com charges a 15% restocking fee regardless of whether you open their package or not. I returned an "unopened" laptop (even though I bought another to replace it) and they imposed the fee. It is only when you learn the hard way that you know how harsh and unfair their policy is.

Bottom line. don't but from HP because of the restocking fee. Try retailers like Best Buy who I believe do not charge a stiff restocking fee on unopened items.

If the laptop has a confirmed issue, they'll remove the restocking fee. I returned one laptop to HP last month at no cost and I even got a gift card from them as an apology for the inconvenience.

Looks like the model you're linking to is Product #7ZD53UA#ABA and the model in the Black Friday ad is Product #5KC45AV_1 . Hard to tell them apart. 😤

I opened my box, used the laptop for a week, called support because I didn't get exactly what I ordered and they sent me a shipping label and I sent it back and got a full refund.

Edit: But if you're returning the item because you have second thoughts, they'll charge that restocking fee.

Why does no other retailer, other than Best Buy, sell the laptop? Sure there are small businesses selling them as third part on Amazon, etc., but why does Amazon, Walmart, New Egg, Adorama, and BHPhotoVideo not sell the Spectre themselves?

The off-centered trackpad ruins this laptop for me.
