I've been using Ooma Telo for almost 2 years and have no problems. I have it plugged directly into my router instead of using it wireless (I have original Telo air which comes with wireless/Bluetooth adapter and it's horrible.) When I first got it I was only paying a little more than $4 a month. It has gone up slightly and pay over $5 now. If you don't want to pay a monthly fee many people use Obihai.

I have been using Ooma for 10 years now and paid $189.00 for it. I'm grandfathered in and pay zero for my servie.

Thank you for your input. Is obihai any good? What sets one apart from the other? The features? And how is obihai fee free?

I've had ooma for over ten years and it has been great. I would highly recommend this if you want a reliable and inexpensive voip setup.

The best part for me is using my "home" ooma phone number for everything that requires a phone number and I don't want to give out my cell number for.

I've had one for a few years. No complaints. I will say that mine is wired though, because I wire everything when possible. I also still use my old Panasonic handsets, not the ones that Ooma provides.

Thanks, OP. I'm going to pick this up for a family member who is finally ready to get rid of their analog landline.

What bothers me about Ooma is the lies about "you are only paying the tax" which is total BS. Started in 2013 at $3.71 a month which they said was just tax....even then, it wasn't just tax. Now my "free" phone line is $6.72. That tax is still less than $3 yet they keep saying it wax a tax increase that raised the price, BS, Wish they didn't feel they needed to lie. 2/14 3.79, 4/14 3.82, 10/15 4.30, 7/17 5.04, 10/18 6.29, 1/19 6.44, 7/19 $6.72.

I got this deal this morning but I went through shopping.google.com and took an additional 20% ($16 for me) off using the Google service with the coupon on that page. looking now I don't see a coupon so it might be per user.

Can we use BOTH Obihai and Ooma? I like Obihai because other people see my GV # on their caller id, but I like Ooma because it is not as glitchy.

If you already have your own phone/handsets to use, you can get the Ooma Telo (which is the basic device) for $49.99 on Black Friday sales via their website:
https://my.ooma.com/products/telo_upgrade_telo_black?utm_source=MailChimp&utm_campaign=Customer_BF_S... [ooma.com]

I've used Ooma for almost 10 years. I originally paid about $200 for this device that is now $50. Phone quality is generally great. You do have to pay the tax and the 911 service fee which in northern CA come to around $5 per month but otherwise there are no charges unless you dial international. I do use a wired connection as well as I assume it is more reliable than wireless. I have the bluetooth adapter but have never really used that.
