First Alert Onelink Safe & Sound bundle with bonus First Alert SC7010BV talking Smoke and CO hardwired unit. Lowest previous price I see is $99.95 back in August, but without the bonus unit and not from Costco. I bought one in store, but also currently available online!

Sound quality better than expected. For those with Apple Homekit (like me), Airplay 2 update is currently in beta testing and expected by the end of the year. This will allow direct and multiple speaker configurations from iOS and Mac devices. Works in current form as a bluetooth speaker or with Alexa, Spotify, pandora, etc.

NOTE: Unit came with several adaptors to connect directly to old hardwired unit proprietary connector. Makes install quite easy.

Can safe and sound be powered by 120V or is it only battery operated. I am curious whether I can interconnect it with existing wired first alert alarms.

This is actually a hard wired unit. I was pleasantly surprised that both units (safe & sound and bonus unit) came with adaptors to attach to the prior units stock connector.

Well, the deal is over but I will still try to provide some insight vs nest. 1) This unit doubles as a respectable ceiling speaker if you would like to pipe audio in different rooms without an audio system. It works through Alexa, Bluetooth, and *forthcoming* Airplay 2 for Apple people. 2) this only comes hardwired vs nest which has battery option as well. 3) if I was in the nest ecosystem and didn't need or want the speaker I would get the nest for $60. However, I use Apple HomeKit, needed a hardwired unit and wanted the audio feature so I think this was a very good buy at $99 including a $30 bonus dumb smoke and Carbon monoxide detector.
