Is the 2 extra inches really worth $250 in comparison with Acer 32" Curved WQHD XZ321QU that CostCo is selling?

While I can't speak to the image quality - and there likely is a difference - one big advantage of the Samsung is the Thunderbolt 3 port. For those of us with MacBooks (or any other Thunderbolt 3 laptop), this means charging from the monitor. In my case, this means I can forgo a docking station.

You're talking about a whole different ball game. The Acer you're pointing out is 2560x1440 while this is an ultrawide screen at 3440x1440 (which is mostly the industry standard for ultrawide screen). Yes, the 1000 pixels of extra width makes all the difference in multi-tasking (if you were to choose using ONLY either monitor and discounting dual/triple monitor setup).

This is 100hz

edit: that acer is 144hz but I don't see the $250 price.

VA panel. I'd rather have IPS.

I'd love this monitor but I just can't justify spending that much.

another post utilizing a .edu email (i used an old email thats not technically an edu but ends with .edu... so i dont think they are too strict about it) will get you this monitor at $500

also 10% cashback at 3bat3s for Samsung.com (also possible 5% cashback using Paypal tied with Chase Freedom calendar)
