Great price for a great game. Just be aware there's going to be a definitive and expanded version called Persona 5 Royal coming sometime in 2020. Atlus is making some announcement (assuming either release date and/or versioning details) on 12/2-12/3.

They did this for Persona 3 (FES) and Persona 4 (Golden) and although the expansions are pretty much the same game at the core, the additonal content (new characters, missions, social links, bosses, etc) though subtle, improve the experience significantly.

Chances are fans have already played it and know this, so casual RPGers looking for a discount, boom, this is it. Though I'd also like to inform those casual discount seekers that this game isn't really a "casual" experience. It's a high class RPG thats easy enough to get into but it's very lengthy.

Worth waiting if you're a fan that hasn't played it yet imho.

what would your advice be if I'm about 30 hours in? do you think it would be worth waiting for the Persona 5 Royal and then finish the game there, or is it enough just to beat it with the regular game?

Persona 5 save data won't work with Persona 5 Royal. Though Atlus did confirm that if you have Persona 5 save data it unlocks some TBD "bonus" in the Royal. Not sure if that means any data or completed game data. Sounds like any, so may not be a waste if youve started it.

My advice would be to base your decision on how into the game you are. At least thats what Id peobably do. 2020 could mean September, so if you're really into it after 30 hours and want to keep playing, by all means you should. If you really end up liking it you can still play Royal and benefit from the updated experience Im sure.

Then again if Royal comes out in Feb, thats not too far away, so itll be an easier wait.

P5 is easily 100+ hours, so on the other hand, stoppong after 30 is not a big deal if you're not all that into it yet.

Im very curious to see what the big announcement is in 8 days (per the Atlus P5 Royal site), stay tuned on the site for that!
