$19.99 at the Microsoft Store for 4K Digital Download of the Dark Knight Trilogy. This is the best deal I have seen so far which even beats the upcoming black friday deals for the disc and digital version at Best Buy for $9.99 each. Is digital 4k as good as 4K bluray, no. But for those who want the 4K digital for ease of access and no disc, this is a no brainer.

it can be upgraded on the windows 10 desktop microsoft movie store app. start out signed out, then sign back in gradually when you're ask to. it will the. let you purchase it. it will upgrade to ma as well
That totally worked, thank you! I keep running into this issue on numerous sites where I already own the film and want to buy the upgraded 4k versions but so many digital marketplaces don't really offer it as an option. It feels like a problem that will eventually be tackled but right now we're just weirdos that care about 4k content.

No. I have the digital copies of this and it's 16x9 from start to finish. No IMAX scenes or aspect ratio during the entire run time.
So, what happens on the blu ray is that the movie is presented in 2 different formats. 2.40:1 ratio (black bars on an HDTV) during most of the movie but IMAX scenes are presented in a 1.78:1 ratio (full screen on an HDTV). It is true, IMAX in the theater uses a totally different aspect ratio but that would leave black bars on the side of an HDTV and their intent was to fill the screen so it immerses you.

A great price but honestly I prefer the physical disc IMAX ratio it's way more immersive.

The blu-ray set was just $15. Where do these people get off charging more for digital when it costs them next to nothing to reproduce?

Do these run in HDR? I don't see that mentioned anywhere.

I just tried this and I confirm it works if you are looking to upgrade from HD to 4K.

Those are not 4K. 4K Blu-ray collection is still 62$ on Amazon

I just bought this in 4K UHD from the Microsoft store and paired it with my my Movies Anywhere account. I wanted to watch the movies through the MA app on my Firestick, but the Firestick says that it does not support 4K streaming from MA. Do I have any other options or avenues to watch the UHD movies I bought in UHD?

I bought the deal. Thanks OP! Here is some info:
  • All 3 movies are 4k/UHD
  • All 3 movies are also HDR/Dolby Vision depending on which service you use
  • When I watch them on VUDU through my TCL Roku tv that supports it, they play using Dolby Vision
  • When I watch them on Movies Anywhere on the same tv, they play using HDR
  • If I play them on my computer which does not have an HDR monitor, they play in SDR in Vudu, Movies Anywhere and the Microsoft Movies & TV app
I tend to watch movies through VUDU because I prefer Dolby Vision over HDR10 but both look nice.

Hope that helps!
