I have this and was amazed how light it was. I paid more than this deal. They also have free blade sharpening for life.

To each their own. IMO BM knives are way overpriced and despite the discount on this one I fail to see how $90 for this knife is compelling in the least. Not trying to start a beef, but these days there are so many great knives available with impressive construction, good blade steel, great ergonomics and usability, and attractive esthetics. BM is obviously making a killing on this this Chinese manufactured knife.

Great price. Too bad it's imported. Also wish it was an assisted opener. Oh well...

That's a listing mistake. It's a Benchmade, made in Oregon.

It's a USA made knife.

Whether or not any knife is really worth spending this kind of money on is a great question, but I own a mini griptlillian and must say it's one of my absolute favorite knives. The form factor and handle on the bugout is even nicer. Certainly you can spend less and get something still very nice, and very sharp. Knife collecting can be dangerous for your wallet.

In for one. Benchmade isn't coming for my 2nd amendment rights and DSG was too overpriced to buy anything from anyway.

I'm not sure if any depts really are auctioning guns anymore. There is just too much liability.
In my old dept, in the most conservative county in CA, they wouldn't even let us deputies have them. We tried to do in house actions and the money went to the sheriff activity league, charities, etc and it never was allowed. Hell, we even asked for the uppers, optics, mags, etc... the stuff that wasn't even considered a firearm and were told no. (None of these guns were buy backs, we didn't do that nonsense)
Heartbreaking to see the type of guns that get destroyed, a real waste. But from the depts perspective, what is one of the guns they auction end up at a murder scene?! Can you imagine the blowback? (How about a mass shooting at a school?) The depts today don't have the stomach for that kind of exposure,
* It should be noted that many of these guns are total junk and not safe, many have no serial numbers anymore- making them scrap metal. Also, many, many of these guns are from suicides and the family's do not want them... and I'm sure do not want them sold. I'd say less then 10% of the guns we destroyed had any real value.

As for what benchmade did, it is true the guns were going to be destroyed so they were just helping the police. It is what it is unfortunately. Is helping local PD destroy guns that will be destroyed anyway a bad thing? Personal judgement call I guess. I like that they are helping other cops, hate that guns were destroyed but at the end of the day the guns were getting destroyed with or without their help.
As for their donations, they explained they give money to imperfect candidates because they do business in a state that is not gun friendly and they don't have many options. They promote the candidates that help them manufacturer knives, unfortunately all their options are antigun. So personally I can't really fault them for trying to push their pro-manufacturing agenda in their local areas using the tools available. What puzzles me is what they remain in that liberal state to begin with? They could come to a freedom loving state like Idaho and have the best of both worlds, instead they stay in Oregon and boot lick. That is where they lost my biz. I understand their arguments but for me, it's time to cut ties with communism and join a free state- if they don't see that I don't need to buy their stuff. (And by buying their stuff I'm helping prop up a communist state.

As for dicks... well they lost my biz long ago, they truly are gun grabbers and give money (proudly) to organizations that have the sole purpose of stripping away the second. So dicks is a hard pass for me.
