There is a benefit in the fact you can run it at a lower speed and have the equivalent of a smaller purifier running at a higher speed. And that means less noise (at least ideally). If you get a small purifier for a small room, to get decent CADR ratings you'd probably need to run it on high. And those fans aren't always as silent as manufacturer's claim. Downside to a larger purifier is that the filters may be more expensive, so factor that into the equation.

I can't speak of the airmega, but I own a blueair 211+ for a small bedroom. It's rated for larger area rooms, but the benefit is I can run it on low/med during daytime hours. If folks can find it on sale, that's the model I'd recommend for most ... had it over a year and it's been working great.

Found this info on a review site:
---

Airmega 400S (AP-2015E) produces respectable Clean Air Delivery Rates (CADRs) of:

340 Dust,

400 Pollen, and

350 Smoke.

The manufacturer's suggested room size for the Airmega 400S is 1,560 sq. ft.

In an area of 500 to 700 square feet, you need 700 CADR. Airmega CADR specs do not come anywhere close to a 1,560 sq. ft. size room.
---
So take that room size claim with a grain of salt. CADR numbers aren't bad just don't expect a purifier like this to suck in the air from your entire house.

What are the pros/cons of getting a purifier rated for a sq ft more than the room size? The Airmega 300 is rated for enough sqft for an area of my home but wondering if I should get the 400 just because.

We've had one of these running at home in our living room for over a year. It was a bit bigger than I was expecting (it's like a squared R2-D2) but it is pretty lightweight and easy to move with the handles. Be aware that the CADR ratings are all based on running the purifier at maximum fan settings, which is noticeably loud. Also, the "Smart" in the title refers to the sensor that detects air impurities and adjusts the fan speed accordingly. Coway has another line (the 400S) that is "Smarter" and is app-enabled. But honestly, I think the app is a gimmick, as most of the time you just set and forget.

Why would you want a used Air purifier, chances are the filters are dirty and would need to be replaced. These filters are like $100 for whole unit, so your actually paying $330 for used machine.

Used very good can mean allot of things when it comes to Amazon warehouse. You can get a brand new fully operational product marked used very good because the packaging is messed up or was a return or something. If it's not acceptable to you upon delivery then just return, same free return policy as normal Amazon products. Can find some real gems there

I have the 400 and can confirm that it works with a smart plug. It will keep the last setting. I have it added to a scene with Alexa that turns it on when I go to bed and can also voice control to turn/off whenever needed.

Dont pay extra for the wifi model.
