I owned one and returned it.
Coming from an IPS panel and switching to a VA or TN is rough. The Color quality is just unmatched.

I own both and have used with 2080 video card. Both have similar qualities in terms of color. MP comes with a remote which is nice. I passed the MP monitor to my wife due to being unable to game with it. GSYNC/FREESYNC was flickering at 50 hz or so on the Mp. Tried multiple fixed with refresh rate software and was unsuccessful. Had that not been an issue I woulda kept it for myself. Happy with the Lg, no flickers and saved some desk space to allow for nice speakers, it also has low level HDr, which barely counts, but it's there. Better refresh rates too. I'm curious if an AMD video card would've fixed the flickering on the Mp. Having said all this, 299.99 for the Mp is a great price, I'm tempted to pick up another.

I have this monitor. The backlight bleed is pretty standard with large curved ultra-wide screens. I use it mainly for browsing and light FPS gaming. No complaints. Picked up for $325 during an eBay bucks promo.

These MP don't really have all that great of reviews, which is a bummer because they look great at this price.

Thanks for the input, I'll probably hold off then and wait for the Costco deal instead

Anyone have this monitor? The specs seem decent. It would be replacing a Lenovo 27" with 2560 x 1440 IPS panel 60Hz which has very nice picture quality. I won't be doing that much gaming.

Good for office work/productivity? Maybe for youtube/movine once in a while but no games. (Maybe street fighter type games)

Get an IPS monitor 60-75hz monitor instead.

I owned the previous version of this. The colors are not as good as a quality IPS. I would only buy it for serious WQHD 100hz gaming. It's a great deal for a wide screen gaming monitor.

If you don't need the 100hz feature, which is for gaming, then you don't want this particular monitor. You could possibly get a Dell IPS 3440x1440 for $400ish if you wait for sale, which will look better.
