Microcenter had XT for $280 in store. reference or not, that's the starting point.
Microcenter and in store...yeah most people do not have a MC near them so that is not the starting point. Unless of course you live near one then congrats, that's def your reference point, but that's not the majority of people looking for deals on here

I'm so torn on this. I've had my deal alerts set for a 5700 XT since release, and this looks pretty darn good. Just wondering if we'll see anything better in the next few days
According to at least one reputable YouTube channel, this card is the worst of the RX 5700 XT cards they've reviewed. Go to the 11 minute mark of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NmExnu-j2s

This wouldn't be THAT great of a deal, but the Game Pass and free game make it worth the buy
No free game is going to make up for the hot temps and loudness. At least to me that is. Go to the 11 minute mark of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NmExnu-j2s

In for one, thanks OP! Personally the risk of these selling out was greater than the potential for future savings.

Plus after watching this vid the card seems plenty promising after a few tweaks:

Personally I'd wait for the Gigabyte gaming OC, Pulse, Red devil or Nitro+ cards for the 5700 XT. They're confirmed good cards with good thermals.

Wait for what exactly? For them to hit $350?? That will be in like 5-10 months

Which probably explains the sale price. These higher end cards will always go on sale but depending on the performance. Usually we see the reference or blower styles cheaper for a specific reason- lower performance compared to their counterparts (different maker, same card). Just like diamonds, it depends on the quality, but same karat, the pricing can widely vary. What I think, people need to see if they'd be ok purchasing this after tedious research or look for a specific card after said research and wait for it to go on sale. Just my 2cents.

Watch the video about it on hardware unboxed....I don't believe this card performed well in terms of temps
It was within 1-2c of the more expensive ones. The only card they said not to get was the Asus Tuf due to poor vram cooling

Just got a 5700 with the blower cooler on the $279 deal from last week and I'm very, very happy with it's performance. Can't go wrong either way.
I'm afraid you went the wrong way on this blower cooler.

I think buying poor quality components defeats the purpose of a "good" deal at this price point. If you're shelling out 300+ for a GPU, get something of quality not something that has a chance to catch fire.

One of the worst cards. Pay a little more and get a cooler and quieter running card.
