4/5 stars from Cnet [cnet.com] when they were selling for $200 a couple of years ago. Frequent complaints related to comfort (especially regarding large heads or large ears) in Amazon reviews [amazon.com]. Probably a steal at this price if you can't justify the price of the Sony WH-1000XM3 or the Bose models. According to reviews, can handle two Bluetooth connections simultaneously (although not necessarily reliably), something the Sony is incapable of doing. Our favorite even-toed ungulate [wikipedia.org] site shows that these have been on a downward price trend for the last couple of years, although this is lower than the lowest price shown for Amazon.

I have not tried these, going by reviews only.

I bought a pair of these from another post recently and do not like them at all. My specific reasoning is that the are advertised as over the ear, and (at least for me) they were definitely ON-ear. My ears are somewhat sensitive and can't wear them for longer that maybe 10 minutes at a time.

Also, I like my music loud, and these just don't have the oomph for me, coming from a Logitech G933.

I bought these from the Amazon sale for exactly the same price - although with this (bestbuy), people can stack the 20% (upto $20) off, if bought through Google shopping. In that case the price will come down to $64.

About the headphone, the sound signature is very balanced. The lower end is there and the resolution and sound separation through all frequencies stand out. The muddy reverberating kind of bass, as seen in many Skullcandy models, is totally absent. Finesse is how I would describe it. The sound signature is not tiring at all - reasonably pleasant. Sound stage is pretty good too - not as good as some open-back options, but nothing in this price range or with noise cancelling.

Now, to the cons
1. When noise cancelling is ON, the pressure on the eardrums is too much for me to tolerate. I commute for 90 mins and at the end of the 90 mins, my ears feel sore.
2. The size of the ear-pads and the very high compression force of the headband can make this too uncomfortable for some people. I personally have small ears and don't mind the pressure.
3. Also the noise cancellation switch (same as the volume rocker) is very unintuitive. And noise cancelling is not as effective as the Boses, Sonys or even the Soundcore Q20 (which I returned because it has its own issues). This was not much of a issue for me but #1 is.

I picked this up, the Sony whh900n deal from Costco, and the Sony xb900n deal from Amazon. Will do a comparison, keep the best one, and return the other . Will post my thoughts.

Thanks for that info. Quick question. Is that over the head band not enough to accommodate or it's not adjustable?

It could adjust far further down than I needed. What I was referring to was the size of the cups. They were simply not big enough for my ears to go into, so they sat on my ears. The headband also got uncomfortable after awhile, but a lot of them seem to for me.

To reference, I probably sit on my computer with headphones on for 6-8 hours per day. It's not like I'm just listening on a bike ride or something.

That's a deal breaker for me, I hate the ones that are advertixed as over the year but fit only on rats ears.

How do they compare with the Sony WH-CH700N?

I've bought them refurbished and just used them on a long flight. I love how they can shut out most of the noise but I'm not very happy with how they sit on my ears. It pinches and hurts after an hour or so. Remove, rub my ears and wear em after 2 mins and all is fine. Sounds good too - not the best but very good. Would I buy again considering my ears hurts? No

These are great headphones but uncomfortable as they put pressure ON your ears not around them. I got aftermarket pads for these made of lambskin and memory foam it totally transformed the headphone into something unbelievable and true over ear.
