How does this compare with the Costco C6900?

I have a Netgear CM1200 modem and it's awful. I just came out Summer of 2019 and is rated at 2 gigs aggregate, or 1 gig using a single port. A lot of users, me included, are seeing 1 gig or greater speeds when modem is first booted up but after a day or two the speeds drop to around 400mbps. This is happening across ISP providers. I know that the CM1000 mode is also affected. I had my ISP come and try to solve the problem, but they pointed the finger at Netgear. Then Netgear RMA'd my unit, but new unit has the same problem!

This modem-router uses 1 gig technology. I'm sure the modem part is similar to other Netgear 1 gig modems.

Oh man reviews look rough... 20% 1-star on Amazon. I chanced it with an Amazon warehouse used for $44. Fingers crossed...

Never buy a combo modem/router unit. Always buy separates. There has never been a robust combo unit, and when one side dies, you're out twofold.

I've had the c7000v2 Nighthawk for about a year and a half and honestly, it's a pretty great value. It'd be nice if they showed the actual model number as the original c7000 had issues. However my c7000v2 has been great - I get my full 600Mbps download; placed centrally, the wireless covers my whole 3000 sq ft house decently; overall routing/performance/reliability has been great. The software/features are pretty basic though and there's no VPN router functionality.
