Costco Members - Roomba 985 $500 + Tax with Free Shipping

+18 Deal Score

I've been watching this for a while and it just dropped $100 today.

$500 historically seems to be about the best deal on the 985 (shipping wasn't included before).

This was the best price I could find on the 980 / 985 through Black Friday.

Valid today through Christmas Eve or until sold out.

$500 + tax, free shipping, and $10 back if you're an executive member.

Good luck!

Is this worth the extra $100 over the Roomba 960. From what I have read so far it has a longer run time and better suction which helps on carpets. It would be used in a house around 1600 sq ft. I have a split level and was hoping to keep it running on the main level all the time then move it upstairs once or twice a week for dust and dog hair. Mostly hardwoods with some area rugs. Trying to decide if it's worth it over the 960 deal at Best Buy for $399 on Black Friday. Any input would be appreciated as this would be my first robo vac.

I decided on the 985 based on what you outlined and Costco's return policy over Best Buy's which is terrible in comparison.

I keep getting the following:
Promotions
You saved $300.00
Add promo code (1 per order)
Your discount wasn't applied because no items in your order were eligible. Learn more

Any idea how to get it to add the additional $105 off?

I couldn't get the promo code to work, either. It looks like it's a valid one on the product page prior to checking out.

Sorry about that.. just hit their customer service and there is a bug that is being worked on. They said to give them just a little while and it will be resolved. Will be emailed once fixed. I'll respond again as soon as I here back

That's probably subject to debate, but I own this model and the next one up (i7) and I like them both, but for $100 more, I'd definitely go with the i7.

It gets stuck less often, has an easier to empty bin, has the intelligent room mapping with virtual barriers and so forth, and seems overall to be a much better vacuum.

would you say the high end roombas blow the top tier dyson vacuums out of the water and do a much better job?

Couldn't say since I don't own one, and I don't think you'd compare an upright to a robot vacuum in most cases. I let the Roomba do my daily vacuuming and I'll break out an upright vac once a week or once every other week. My preference for upright is the Shark Navigator (pretty sure I have the model that will be $85 later this week). I love it compared to the Hoover models I've owned in the past.

FWIW, I've also owned Ecovacs Deebot (600 and 900 series), and Neato Botvac robo vacuums and as much as iRobot sometimes frustrates me, I think they have really solid vacuums. Haven't tried the Roborock but am interested.

so you recommend using upright for heavy duty workloads and run the roombas to add finishing touches and polishes afterwards?
