Doubt you will gain much, while you gain the 1.4 over the 1.8, it will not focus as quickly as the native glass. That 1.8 is awesome as it is. I would put money into other options like a wide zoom or another prime of a different length. Just my $0.02.

I owned both and kept the Sony in my opinion it's not worth the upgrade. I went and bought a 135 1.8 gm as well and use that for most of my portraits.

Friggin awesome price on this lens. If you already have the Sony 1.8 it might not be worth the upgrade, but if you don't have an alternative and were looking to buy this, do not hesitate. Great price on the sharpest lens out there according to DXO. Honestly if I didn't just buy the 70-200 GM I'd be all over this.
