Great deal here for anyone into Seiko watches/dive watches in general

Seiko 5 SRPD87 Dive Watch at Kohl's Today on Black Friday sale for $177

Apply coupon code "GIVETHANKS" for 15% off and free shipping on top

And then also get $45 back in Kohl's cash since it just breaks the $150 threshold still.

Overall, $150.45 + tax out of pocket, which is by far the cheapest I've ever seen this model, and get another $45 back on top in Kohl's cash.

https://www.kohls.com/product/prd...d=58840456

Just FYI, you can also get the following similar models for the same price:

SRPD95: https://www.kohls.com/product/prd...h---SRPD95
SRPD93: https://www.kohls.com/product/prd...h---SRPD93

Enjoy!

Great price. These have been out for a few months but are still kind of hard to find.

This has a screw down crown, but cheap hardlex crystal and nato and the logo on the dial is either a 5 or infinity sign. I have the Omega seamaster pro 300m and this is simply trash

Your $3,000 watch is nicer than a $150 watch?????? You don't say!

Whole lot of people looking at this watch are really comparing a $150 watch to a $3,000 watch when making their purchase decision. Really the exact same market for both. Great contribution, thanks.

You might want to double check that. Even though the new seiko 5's use the old SKX style case, the screw down crown was eliminated.

I love Omega's and have a PO, but would not call this trash. For the money it's a good deal as Seikos have been creeping up the price ladder steadily the past few years. If it was on a ss bracelet I would pick one up, regardless of it not being a real dive watch.

CASE
Material: stainless steel with waterproof screw-down exhibition back
Crown: waterproof screw-down
Diameter: 43 mm

This is what is stated on the website, so blame Kohl's lol

and ok. fair point. Smilie

It says "Screw-down Exhibition back", which is the back of the case, not the crown.

The new 5KX watches do not have a screw down crown.

It says screw down crown, but we know it's not, Even the product manual shows it as screw down.

Seiko cost cutting is ahead of marketing, it would appear.

In for 2...because I couldnt decide on color. Will end up returning one.

$150 for a seiko with manual winding and hacking seconds is an excellent deal. According to some reviews, the bezel also appears to be upgraded, and the rubber straps are supposedly very good (decided against the NATO).

I would be very curious how many people actually dive with their SKX or any other diving watch for that matter. For everyone else, 100m WR is going to meet 100% of their water activities. And if for some reason, you're diving with a 5KX below 100m and you get water in because you didnt have a screw down crown, then you cant feel too bad about losing $150 watch (or 105 after kohls cash) that you shouldnt have been using to dive in the first place.

Is the 93 and 87 the same watch head with just different straps?
Not exactly. Different color chapter rings, and it looks like slightly different colored lume, but that could just be the photo. Plus the pop of color on the second hand. The 93 looks a bit more retro-styled to my eye.

Mechanically, they are the same though.

I would dive with it.. or should i say snorkel. When you dive you need a compass, so usually you have a watch/compass in one.

but for snorkeling id totally dive with it because id be gone hours on reefs .

one thing holding me back - this thing seems thick. I have a skinny wrist. Anyone got input on how thick these kind of watches feel?
