Given this compressor came out over 10 years ago from type 1 to type 9, I am pretty sure it'll accumulate some negative reviews.
For $149 vs 399+, it's a no brainer. Comes with full 1 year warranty so if it doesn't break within the 1st few months of use then it should be good.
The cylinder wall coating is probably going to be the issue if any.

It's good for a typical homeowner that don't run this pass 50% duty cycle or get it too hot.

Might look enticing but my DeWalt compressor died after 1 year of light useage. Out of the blue the pressure regulator dial broke and the only way to replace was the entire manifold $90 part. On top of that the part was discontinued and only service centers had them. Ended up parting out the compressor and got smart and bought a Makita.

Never again will I get a DeWalt compressor

Thanks op! Ordered one to use for spraying knockdown texture (drywaller).

Hopefully it holds up well, too crazy a deal too pass up. If I'm not happy with it I'm confident I can sell for $250 on Craigslist.

I've had one of these for years. I'm a hobbyist so not heavy usage, but I haven't had any problems except for having to replace the drain valve. This is a no brainier for the specs at this price.

I have one of these for about 10 years now. No problems at all. Works great but the tank is small so if you are using a cutoff wheel you will have to wait a lot for the compressor to recharge. This price is a deal.

I know right... just buy it and ask questions later.
You can always flip it on CL or something for more than this.

I've had one for three years now. Painted a car, ran pneumatics, and regular air blow off guns. Handles everything and I really don't baby it at all. No problems to mention, this is a no brainer IMHO.
