Great breakdown of the deal, but $75 kohl's cash is not equivalent to cash. Kohl's cash can not be used to pay for all items and is applied BEFORE any other discounts. Since a 30% discount is basically always available at kohl's, kohl's cash is worth ~30% less than cash. Therefore $75 kohl's cash is worth $52.50.

EDIT: kohl's cash can be used to purchase any item at kohl's.
Also, I own this vacuum and I highly recommend it.

I did a lot of research and ended up with the V10 + dok deal that is live right now. The V8 is probably the minimum I'd go, V10 was what I wanted for battery life. Google and there are a million comparisons.

I'm looking to buy my first Dyson vacuum, but I confess that I'm overwhelmed by the number of options (too many models, tools, and combinations).

Any suggestions on where I can compare the pros / cons of each model? Or compare the tools? Thanks in advance.

I actually just purchased this and is the best deal I've found so far. If you have a chase freedom card, you can get an additional 5% cashback as department stores is included in this month's rotating category. Also, rakuten has 6% cashback for Kohl's right now so you can potentially get an additional 11% cashback by stacking these two. Kohl's will also give you $5 Kohl's cash if you pick up the product in store (I think this is for all Kohl's and not just my local one).

So after all the cashback bonuses and Kohl's cash, you should be paying $142.50 for the Dyson V8 Animal:

$249.99 - $12.50 (chase freedom) - $15 (rakuten) - $75 (kohl's cash) - $5 (kohl's cash for in store pickup) = $142.50

Thanks for the correction - hadn't thought about it that way but makes sense. Smilie

I thought using a card other than the Kohls credit card means you lose out on the Kohls cash?

Yes, I have this exact vacuum and it's amazing (especially for pet hair).

I own a bunch of Dyson upright vacuums. Bought this about 18 mo that ago and within a month I sold my others. I'll never go back to corded upright. This guy, with the carpet and hard floor power attachments is absolutely amazing.
