I have both. I use this model more, because it heats the entire room quickly. The heat dish roasts whatever its pointed at and doesn't really heat the entire room as well.

This is 1500 watts while the dish is 1000 watts. Your assessment of the dish not warming up the room, rather a particular area it's pointed is spot on.

And the dish is tough to clean once it gets dirty.

I tried the dish for about 30 min and then packed it back for return, half body towards the dish was warm while the other half cold

Anyone know if they have this available in store, or only online? I was planning to go later today anyway and this way I can avoid the shipping cost.

Last 2 days I am using it, it is pretty cool, Heats up quickly, has a swivel action, brings the room temperature up quickly in 30 mins up by 5 degrees. Google Nest shows the heat running 2 hours less.

My 10+ year old Holmes tower heater recently gave out and it has been very frustrating trying to find a replacement. It had high and low for both a straight heater and also for when you wanted to set a maximum temperature level (once the temperature level was reached, the heater would shut off until the temperature dropped below the desired level, then the heater would kick back on again). It also had oscillation, a timer, 1° increments when setting the desired temperature and displayed the current room temperature - if you used the max. temperature function it would display both the current temperature and the target temperature at the same time. I have found no heaters that do all of that. I have looked at many models on Amazon (including this one) and I can find some of the features I mentioned, but not all. The hardest ones to find are current temperature (and target temperature when using that feature) and 1° increments when setting the target temperature.
If any of you know of tower heaters that can do what I am looking for, please post the information.
