Can you install ram and put in an NVME drive?

Edit: oops, thought this was a Windows laptop. Nevertheless, it'd still be nice if you could upgrade.

No idea why this is getting thumbed down, this is the lowest price this Chromebook has been and is available a couple days of when it will be available during Black Fridayc sales.

Thanks OP, bought one. Now I can focus on other things during Thanksgiving rather than trying to buy this at Walmart

Same here, been wanting to get one for my mother for Christmas and been debating and debating which one and looking at the specs (pretty top notch) and prices this one goes for ($469@wallmart) it doesn't look like I'm going to find a better deal. I ordered the refurbished one off their website website, hope i didn't make a mistake there but we shall see! Thanks!

UPDATE: Funny on the Ebay and also the manufacture page its states this model has a touchscreen, on VIP Outlets website it states "Touchscreen: No", that's odd!

UPDATE 2: Called VIP Outlets and they verified it had a touchscreen

I'd recommend changing the title from New to New FRU, based on the condition note on the eBay page. Especially knowing the condition of this Chromebook, I'd much rather buy the HP 14" for an extra $50.

PLEASE READ CONDITION NOTE: BRAND NEW FRU (FACTORY REPLACEMENT UNIT) - COMPLETE WITH ALL STANDARD ACCESSORIES - SHIPS IN NON OEM PACKAGING-FREE PRIORITY SHIPPING AND 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE!

VIP outlets has two different listings for this one on Ebay.......

$299 for new........

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-HP-1...0#viTabs_0

and $255 for used/refurbished.......

https://www.ebay.com/itm/HP-15-de...3867197040

but like the author stated you can also get the refurbished one for 10% less one their website using the coupon.

Hmmmmmmm.....After further studying yeah your right the new one does state BRAND NEW FRU (FACTORY REPLACEMENT UNIT) ..ect.ect. like you stated though.

I just TD because you're a shill/dupe account for the OP. Your only two pieces of activity since you created your account were when chrisl8096 has posted. Pretty obvious...

No upgrading memory except through SD card and USB external drive, IIRC.

"The term eMMC is short for "embedded Multi-Media Controller" and refers to a package consisting of both flash memory and a flash memory controller integrated on the same silicon die."
There are lots of real computers in the $300 range...

I know this deal is dead and your comment a few days old, but I wanted to chime in and say that I bought this Chromebook a couple of months ago and while there might be lots of "real computers" in the $300 range, I'll say that there aren't lots of them I'd be satisfied with. I came from a $1,000 gaming laptop (I don't game, but I work online and like having a machine capable of handling the many tabs / spreadsheets / tasks I throw at it at one time) and I have been thrilled with the Chromebook. I didn't want one with a tiny screen and I wanted the numeric keypad and I am becoming a full convert. It boots up and shuts down in seconds, handles the way I overload it with various open documents / windows and don't shut it down for days on end and the battery life is phenomenal (I can work a full day on a single charge). When I'm stationary, I plug it into a 27" monitor and when I'm not, it works like a charm. Being able to power it off of an external battery via USB-C when I'm on the road and need a little more juice is also awesome.

You are correct that there are obviously limitations (internal storage), but most of what I need is stored in the cloud anyway, so that's not a huge limitation for me (and I keep a microSD card in the Chromebook for when I need it).

I am glad I finally realized that nothing I do anymore really requires Windows and I allowed myself to take a leap and try a Chromebook out. I'm sure I'll eventually find a limitation that reminds me why I need to also have a Windows machine, but thus far I'm thrilled with this thing.

My experience is with a friend's 2 yr old HP Stream that doesn't have enough memory to update Windows 10. Trying an SD card next.

I;m supposed to get mine in today, curious what I'm going to get, but judging from the specs I don't see any difference........

Received mine today, it was the 517 model, thought I read somewhere it had a touchscreen but apparently I was wrong, other than that (and its weak sound) it seems like a pretty decent Chromebook!

The 0518 box says it has a touchscreen. Maybe that's the difference?
