First time poster, didn't see anywhere else. Be gentle.
This thing is a beast - 700 lbs. Wish I could pull the trigger, but it's just a tad too big and it won't fit for where I have this in mind. I like that has hidden hinges. No, it's not the best safe ever made, but will definitely keep honest people honest.

this is much better and larger safe than what Academy and BPS/Cabelas is selling. The other large safes have only 3 locking bolts, lighter steel.

This is a good price for this safe, especially delivered. However, the number of bolts around the door is false security. These safes fail because of their thin, easily cut sidewall material and hackable locking actions. Thiefs never really have to go up against the door bolts on these budget Cannon models. These are good for the price, but a poor choice for protecting highly valuable items.

What would be a good brand (or 2) recommendation for true security?

if you have to worry about someone cutting through side walls of your safe, you need to move.

absolutely correct but even high end true safes ($3-5k) can be busted open with a hydraulic tool you can rent from home Depot for $49/4 hours. so if someone wants to get in, they will. it's better to focus on total home security and not give them the time to open the safe. simple back up power supply and camera system with auto alert can be set up for $800 or less and within minutes of a break in you can have the police going.

All I could see last week was 899. Is it because I was not a member or was it dead?
