Is this worth shucking to use for a home server? That's a nice price, but I love my (4) 4TB Red drives right now, very reliable but need to upgrade storage soon. Welp..

Last I heard it was almost impossible to send a "shucked" drive in for warranty repair. That being said, 10TB Red is $300. I don't think I'd pay $140 for a warranty.

Also, is a Red drive 100% guaranteed?

This is a good deal. And the 3 C's report this is the low price for this drive from Amazon and it has hit this price 4 times previously.

I have 2 10tb hd from last year in a NAS and it was these drives. I still don't need another 2 10tb yet to add them but eventually these drives willl be more expensive than the larger drives. Question is can I get the two 12tb and add them on the NAS or does it have to be the same side to put all in a raid 20tb

Save the enclosure, repackage the drive if you need to make a warranty claim. Just be careful with the plastic clips when removing.

Depends on the NAS. At worst you can add 12TB drives as 10TB.

If you purchase these with the Amazon Prime credit card and get the additional 15% discount, then these are a better deal than Best Buy's 12TB sale.

With 15% off sounds pretty good, but can we expect better deals tomorrow and Cyber Monday?

Rakuten had 20% off coupon. I picked up Synology DS218+ for under $250
