Just picked one up. Will give this a try. Replacing my MOTOROLA SB6121 SURFboard Cable Modem from 2012.

SB6121 is DOCSIS 3.0 but Maximum Theoretical Data Rate is 171.537 Mbps (4 channels) / 42.884 (single channel).

Netgear CM500, on the other hand (as per Netgear's website), has 16 down stream and 4 up stream channels with speeds up to 680 Mbps download and upload.

I'm having once a week disconnections, but most likely due to my Nighthawk R7000 router being unable to handle 50+ devices .... but let's see if it helps there besides speed/latency.

This is a good price but it's not a super reliable modem.

I personally use surfboard modems. Never had one go out on me in the past 10+ years. They never freeze up, lose connection, or anything of that sort. But based on some reviews some of the new ones aren't as good. Overall, surfboard is still my go to.

There's options posted if you search "router", but I'm in the same boat looking for a router to pair with this
