Can't comment specifically to this speaker but I'm blown away by the recent 104 pair recently on sale for $50. They definitely compete with my krk 5 set. I'd probably argue the 104 series sound better than the krk. I'd grab this speaker based on my jbl experience so far.

These are amazing speakers. I have them as rears in the theater,
Two as fronts in formal living and two as fronts in master bedroom. Amazing sound and awesome quality. Don't think twice!!

Any recommendations for a matching center that would also be in-wall and not break the bank?

I wish they would make a matching center from the same line, that shares the design and sound staging of this series. I would have gone 5.2.2 with them already on these deals.

I use three of them in the front in a 5.2.2 set up and it sounds great.

Did you do any wall boxes or backing boxes? I'm 90% leaning towards sonance for sound quality and the fact they make matching boxes.

At this price, buy a second pair and use one for your center channel. Ideally, your center channel should match everything else. Plus, you'll have a spare!

Does it matter for ceiling speakers to match the main speakers? I've got Polk Monitor 70 for the front towers and wonder if I should stick to the matching Polk ceiling speakers?

Is there any reason I'd want 8" over the 6"? Bass needs to come from the sub I imagine, so I'm not sure a bigger hole in the ceiling is worthwhile, but maybe it is?

Amazon has this 5-speaker package for $140 that is well reviewed. I have no experience with them.

Nice idea.
Can the wall ones be used in the ceiling? Thinking of I can use the spare in ceiling.

Can I use 5 of the SP8II with an existing JBL subwoofer and Danon amplifier for 5.1 sound?
