this comparison has probably been beaten to death, but should I choose this or the HD 58X jubilee for hiphop, rap, EDM, and dance music?

I liked the 58X more personally. If you don't have a dedicated amp/DAC I would recommend the 58X. If you do the 6XX at this price is a great deal. Both are very good.

I wouldn't get either if that's all you listen to.

Got the 58x recently after using the 6xx for months. You cant go wrong with either. 58x puts me in the moment with the music with more bass and seemingly a bit more treble. 6xx keeps things neutral but less fatiguing apart from more fun pairs like the 58x. Build quality between the two feels really night and day to me, 58x feels cheap compared to the plastic and metal grate of the 6xx, I was surprised. Still these days i prefer less boom and piercing sounds so the 6xx are my gaming/music/movie choice. On a back to back comaprison of sound I would barely rate the 58x lower than the 6xx, they both sound wonderful.

Bought the 58x a few weeks ago for $115 with new account and I'm glad I did! I hear these are a tiny more detailed than the 58x but after some 40 burn-in hours (I know it's probably placebo effect) the sound was a lot better than when I first tried them. Just trying to get used to the clamping force.

Yup thr clamp is rough. Just keep bending the metal bands every now and again to relieve that pressure. Going from my 6xx to my brand new 58x, the clamp was murderous. Gotta get more bendy times in.

Anyone looking for gaming headphones and looking at these, I highly suggest going with the AD700X over these for gaming. They don't require anything to help power them and their soundstage is phenomenal for gaming. Also being half the price helps.

You will need a driver/ampr to power those cans. The AD700X can be used on any platform, including consoles, without anything to help power it. So it's very misleading to put the K7XX in the same category as a sub$100 openback soundstage.

The AD700X was one of the top headphones for competitive counter strike players prior to sponsors paying them to wear their gear.

The K7XX may beat the AD700X with an amp, but you won't even be able to use them without one.
