Abode Smart Security System (up to 50% off)

From their website: abode includes easy to use software and powerful, no-contract plans to keep you connected and protected every day of the year.

https://goabode.com/

Notable discounts:
Smart Security Kit: $159 (from $229)
iota All-In-One Security Kit: $189 (from $299)
one year plan of full monitoring with cellular backup: $60 (from $200)

Why use Abode rather than Ring or Simplisafe?
Integrates very well with home automation. App is free. Self-monitoring is free. Works with IFTTT, Ecobee, Hue, smart door locks, and much more.

For the same features, it'll cost more to go with a different company. I have contacted support a few times for help with automations, and they've always gotten back to me with a good solution.

Odd, I just tried to remake a system I purchased last week during their pre-black Friday sale to see if it was cheaper and it came out $30 more because promo codes can't be used with the current sale.

That is odd. I contacted them regarding a referral program or any other discount programs they might have, and they said they usually have a referral discount or a military discount of 10%, but they have disabled all codes for their current sale.

I compared similar systems between SimpliSafe and Abode for
1 Base Station
1 Wireless Keypad
1 Key Fob
3 Entry Sensors
2 Motion Sensors
Simplisafe was $157 + monitoring fees (of $165 or $275 for the first year)
$322 for monitoring only if you want
+Mobile App: Arm/Disarm from Anywhere
+Alerts Right On Your Phone
+Secret Alerts
+Video Alarm Verification
+Unlimited Camera Recording
+Smart Home Integrations
then it's $432
Adobe was $364 ($304 + monitoring fee of $60 for the first year) and includes all the features

I went with the Abode because it was cheaper at the time, and I like the more open integrations. Plus it has a camera included if you get the Iota. I wonder if they would price match individual items. Even though I paid less total, I paid $229 for the Iota, which is now $189.

This is my order from 11/20 which included two door sensors with the purchase of a system.

2 Door / Window Sensor for $0.00 each
3 Mini Door/Window Sensor for $23.20 each
1 Motion Sensor for $33.60 each
1 iota All-In-One Security Kit - Secure for $229.00 each
1 Secure for $75.00 each

Discounts: $-33.22
Product Total: $373.98

This is the cheapest the system has been in quite awhile. Sensors too.

Been tracking prices of the sensors since I purchased my system last BF. I picked up additional sensors.

Can any one comment on the difference between the mini window/door sensors vs the standard window/door sensors. It's a 2 dollar difference currently but is one better worth than the other? Thanks

They serve the same function. The mini is less of an eyesore, and possibly easier to place, but the battery lasts longer in the standard sensor (10 vs 4 years). I also think the mini design is newer, if that means anything.

I opted for all mini sensors. I hope that helps you make your decision.

The slim strips are even better. Can hide them in most sliding doors, sliding windows and I was even able to cram one in my front door.
