B&H is having a flash sale on this receiver, $1599 with a $700 off coupon applied in cart so $899. Really killer deal considering Accessories4less charges $999 refurbished and they're pretty much as cheap as it gets. Deal ends at midnight or until they run out.

seems like a popular B&H/Fry's recurring deal this year. seeing it every couple of months and still havent gotten courage to pull the trigger. Waiting for em enthusiasts to comment how they wait for the next standard of sound and throughput standard of HDMI to be incorporated in the next gen, and then Denon overheats, and etc etc

This is a killer deal. I got the A-1070 last year for about the same cost. Excellent receiver if anyone is looking.

Is this HDCP 2.3? The back only says 2.2. Can't see how something at this price doesn't support eARC.

Never saw this unit on sale at Frys...maybe you mean the 1070?

On another note.. buy a made in Japan Denon and I bet you have no issues with overheating
I have had a slew of them and currently have an X7200..and it runs very cool for a class A/B amp

hdmi 2.1 chips (needed for eARC) only started to ship this year, this is a 2018 model

EDIT: eARC is part of hdmi 2.1 however it doesn't require it. A firmware update from the manufacturer can enable support

You could be right. Could be the 1080 model.

I searched and it seems that's the first time 2080 dropped that low.

perhaps the time has come to shell out those hard earn $$$

Jumped the gun. Although eARC is part of HDMI2.1 spec it doesn't require it, A firmware update is in-fact possible.

eARC is a HDMI 2.1 feature but doesn't need an actual HDMI 2.1 port/chip. Many recievers and even tvs have gotten eARC updates on 2.0
