This is a excellent deal for a entry level 4K touchscreen laptop. Dell has played shrewed strategy to sell this processor (mid 2017 model) compare to the better 8565U and 8650U model.

Order a open box satisfactory from Bestbuy for $695 with 16GB RAM, 8565u. If that does not work, I will just order a certified one.

Keep us posted about the condition. Tbh it would be a steal if it comes out almost new condition. When are you expecting it to get delivered?

As with a lot of these bargain deals the screen brightness is very low. This one is under 250 nits.

Anyone know if it has a second drive bay to insert a decent sized SSD? Lots of deals today on machines with unfortunately small drives.

I picked this up for 624$ couple of weeks ago but the pen was missing. Condition is near perfect and warranty shows active till September 2020. But problem is the fan won't shut up. Even with an available BIOS update which supposedly fixes the issue the fan was still pretty noisy. Apparently that's a common issue with this model and some Dell laptops in general. Otherwise the 4k screen is spectacular. And the touchscreen works flawlessly. Still deciding if I want to keep it or not.
P.S- in-store prices are cheaper sometimes so try and buy from B&M if available.

Battery size? Looks like the screen is glossy but it's not specified

Almost jumped on an open box the other day, but this model and the XPS 2-in-1 seem to have some heat issues making fan run a lot.

OK this is weird. I have same exact spec like you have. No pen but for the price I don't care and you can always get it for 49.99 if needed. Fan did ran loud but it was updating non stop. After I unplug the charger, fan was quiet/off. I am going to give it couple of days and see how that goes.

I got a satisfactory open box Inspirion 7390 black edition (13 inch version of this with 16gb and 512gb ssd) two weeks ago for under $600. Hell of a deal on a laptop with an MSRP $1400. Seems to be in new condition to me, I coulnd't find a scratch, and the pen was still there.
