Who wants to buy a 75 inch tv that's going to die within 3 years?
I'm with you. I'd say even within the 1st 1-2 yrs.

It is hard to make a judgement based on only 8 reviews. I wish it was available at the store to check it out.

True, but I'd rather go for the TCL 75" 4 series at Walmart for $100 more. Or wait until one of their 6 series comes down by a lot. Wishful thinking.

How is the LG 75UM8070PUA which is at Costco for $929? Is this a good reasonable 75" TV ? (https://www.costco.com/lg-75%22-c...09541.html)

And how about the Samsung UN75NU6950FXZA at $750? (https://www.costco.com/samsung-75...09482.html)

The LG has better rating that the Samsung. Any thoughts or suggestions on the LG model?

Philips in North America is manufactured by Funai electric. Same company that makes Emerson, Sylvania, Sanyo TVs

Yes. And guess what brand it was? This brand. They make subpar TVs.

More important on your shopping list is a new keyboard with a working period key and a grammar book.
