Every time Norton is referenced here, the anti-Norton crowd comes out of the wood work and bad mouths it. They usually consist of people who used the product 10-15+ years ago when it was something of a memory and resource pig, people who think good PC practices and Win 10 make it obsolete or just people who think that MS will protect them because they upgraded the AV\IS in Win 10 to something that was not a joke. MS Win Defender still is not highly rated...it is just a lot better than what was previously offered in prior versions of Windows.

Norton is highly rated (usually in the top 3 or so of AV\IS products along with Bitdefender and Kaspersky). Kaspersky is Russian spyware though imo. Those that argue that good PC practices make it unnecessary with Win 10 obviously have never had to share a PC with computer illiterates or kids. For $2 a PC\year, Norton is about as good as you are likely to get imo.

Is Norton doing away with their local backup portion of the software again? I was looking at all the Norton 360s and they mention the cloud backup but none seems to have the local backup option that Norton Security Premium has. Wasn't sure if anyone had purchased yet and had an idea on this.

When purchasing a download version can we activate it whenever we want to. I'm sure we can as long as we receive the key.

It should be but I am not sure. But the Walmart also has Physical Media Format (Key Card) and that definitely can be activated whenever you're ready and I am going to get that one.

Thanks I've had the physical card and have added that several times. I usually get them FAR from Frys but not seeing that lately so using rewards on this. OD should have the physical one in store also.

Norton is awful software. It makes your PC run slow because it adds all this background stuff that's totally unnecessary!! Stay well away and keep your $10. Tell your Grandma too.

FYI: if you have Xfinity/Comcast internet, I believe there is a free download of Norton when you log into your Xfinity account
