I know it isn't the $130 MC deal, don't care. Some people have been looking for them outside of MC so this is a bit better than the $169 deals.

$159.00 before tax and cashback.
If you have one make sure to use your Chase or Store prime cards for 15% CB.

Game Bundle: Get Borderland 3 or The Outer World PC game plus 3 months of Xbox Game Pass

If for primarily gaming single player like fallout and borderlands, or league and Apex.. is the value in buying the 2700x over the 3600x? At what level gpu would it start to be the bottleneck over the 3600x?
to compare the two is quite nitpicking.
this is an amazing deal and the processor will not bottleneck anything anytime soon.
The 50 dollar ryzen 3 1200 starts to see bottleneck around the level of a 1060/1070 and sometimes less in many games.

So sincerely no worries at this level ^_^

I bought one at Micro Center for 129 when it was on sale, that will be the best purchase I've ever made in PC hardware. I already had a Tai Chi x470 open box I got from them for like 145.

Here's the situation, my Ryzen 1700 could OC to 3800 at 1.275 vcore and was rock solid. The new one only does 4075 at 1.3 vcore not that wonderful, however I really learned you shouldn't do an all core OC on these ones, instead you go into the PB and XFR settings and mess with those. I'm able to get boosts around 4375 now using a Scythe Fuma 2. So the best you'll get on messing around is maybe 4400 if you're lucky.

Good luck

Thanks. I meant like at what level gpu would the 2700x be a bottleneck where the 3609x wouldnt.
You can look up the max gpu tests. Typically I'd say 2070/1080 ti range at 1080p only

Was $130. Still a decent deal but not slick
If you have an Amazon Prime Card this would come out to being $136... I'd bet you spend $6 on gas atleast driving to a Microcenter.

Pulling the trigger.

Lol. I went into this PC build thinking I was going to get the 3900x only to walk away with a 2700x. IMO, the performance benefits aren't worth a $364 dollar difference. I'm using this PC for .NET Development and Gaming - it should be enough...

Also, how much do you want to be that next Black Friday, the 3900x will be in the $200 range? laugh out loud

Not sure why this deal isn't getting much love. Don't get me wrong, $300 for a Ryzen 7 3700x is a great price for a great CPU, but this Ryzen 7 2700x at $160 is too good to be true if you don't have a micro center nearby (like most of the people). Basically 20% less performance than 3700x but only half the price.

BTW, B&H has the same deal and you can avoid tax there if you have their store card.

I ended up ordering this one. I was really tempted to go with the 3800x for $330, but with the 15% cash back, this is just so much cheaper. And I'm coming from an i7 870 build I did almost ten years ago...

Had to find it for prime on the right side and says "Usually ships within 1 to 2 months." Otherwise was 205.49 & FREE Shipping.

any good x470 or b450 deals to pair with the 2700X? This seems to have been a pretty poor BF and CM for computer deals.

Well, I waited too long to think if I really needed this or not. Looks like amazon made the choice for me because it's dead.

I purchased Gigabyte Aorus B450 M (MicroATX) for $70 on amazon and has been pretty smooth

I agree wrt the lack of really slick BF and CM computer deals - except for the Ryzen 2700x @ MC. I was disappointed overall. Regarding good MBs to pair this with, I would recommend the MSI B450 Tomahawk Max @ $110-120 even though I have not seen it on sale. You will not find a better quality B450 or X470 motherboard around; best VRM solution for a B450 or X470. Only limitations are max RAM (64) and lack of PCIe 4.0 support (Not relevant for 99% of use cases). This motherboard will support any Ryzen processor up to and including the new 3950 without breaking a sweat. Be careful when buying a B450 or X470 board that you ensure the board has enough capacity to support Ryzen 3rd gen. BIOS revisions for future CPU upgrades, such as a 3700, 3800 or 3950 for example; the Tomahawk Max does.
