Yeah, I'm trading in an older paperwhite for $25 and then 25% off which was about $43.xx so total after tax was ~$114 if I remember correctly.

25% of when you trade in another kindle (plus the trade-in's appraisal value). BUT the catch is you have to wait for the traded in device to be appraised, before you can purchase another device with the 25% off coupon. I've talked with customer support to see if there was some way to have the 25% applied immediately but couldn't make it happen. So you have to hope the sales price on the device is still available when your appraisal comes through. In my experience it takes about 3-4 days once you mail it to Amazon. Some people claim the 25% off can be applied immediately, but its never worked for me. Perhaps the policy differs from account to account.

leojay, glad to hear the 25% off was applied immediately for you. I've yet to figure out what determines if you have to wait for appraisal, or have it applied immediately. I thought a chat with customer service might do the trick, but both times I tried I was told it simply wasn't possible to have the discount applied at the time of submitting the trade-in. I guess each person needs to try to determine what policy applies.

Got off with my second agent, finally had success. They didn't give me a 25% out right but offered a $40 refund once the kindle has been received. I still need to send it back and can get the $25 card but won't be able to see the 25% off anything.

I had a feeling this would drop. I nearly hopped on the 9th gen deal the other day but I really wanted the warm light because I read a lot at nighttime. Got the 25% off + $25 gift card for an old paperwhite. Total is $114.11 after all is said and done. Good deal! Thanks OP!

I did something last time, got 40 dollar plus 25 percent discount. I got lucky with the cs I chatted to.

If you're doing a trade in go to the desktop site and above the add to cart button you should see a "upgrade and save with Trade-In" option. Not everyone will have this, your account has to be fairly high on Amazons trust scale for it to be there.
