Home Depot has this miter saw for $139 for Black Friday. Pretty good deal for DIY home projects. With free shipping.

Thanks.

So for sliding, get this or the $99 Kobalt 7 1/4" slider.
As far as price for what your getting either one is a good deal. I remember about 5 years ago there was a good deal on a Ryobi non slider which I picked up for my son. In changing the blade something snapped off, I don't remember what, but had to rig something up which made blade changes difficult. Nothing seems to be made very well these days so my advise is, treat them gingerly.

I have never bought a Ryobi Power Tool. What would a proper comparison for this saw at Harbor Freight? Same quality / precision. apples to apples? I need a saw that I can make very accurate cuts with but not break the bank. I don't need to cut big heavy pieces, but I need accuracy most of all.
For me personally I like them as a backup tool. I do not rely on them to do big projects but they are great for weekend woodworking. Can not beat the price but do not depend on them to perform like the big boys.

In for one and a $99 dollar Rigid mobile mitre stand. Double bevel would've been nice, but I'm not a pro and can't justify the price difference. This will be perfect for my small, around the house projects. Thanks OP

Just ordered along with the Gorilla 3-step ladder. Upgrading from the Ryobi 7 1/4" non-slider I bought on Black Friday 2009.

Years ago when I owned a construction company I wouldn't blink at spending $500 for a miter saw. With construction no longer being my primary profession it is much harder for me to justify. I have been looking for a decent price on a good miter saw for a few months now. This one is definitely a bargain. The LED feature of this model clinched it for me as this feature is typically only seen on the higher end models.

I took the plunge and bought this along with the Rigid portable miter saw stand also on sale for $99 - arriving today.

All in to get this miter saw with this stand for <$250 is a phenomenal deal. Good Job OP!

Do you need a stand for this? Trying to surprise my husband. He wants to redo some baseboards and would like to do more woodworking as a hobby.

Much better with a stand. I got this with $60 Ryobi stand instead of $99 Ridgid one b/c I don't have a space to store that big stand.
