Well first off, that Western Digital Blue isn't a nvme m.2 but just SATA m.2.

Just so people are aware, this is built for PCIe 4.0 M.2 connectors (which are coming standard on X570 boards). I'm still unsure how much faster these are compared to its predecessor - maybe someone here knows.

Either way, this is the drive you'd want to install your OS on for optimal performance. And with 1tb you'd have plenty of room for other stuff too.

This is backwards compatible with the original NVME slots on all existing motherboards. It seems to be a really good price!

Anyone using it in a taichi or similar setup where the mb already has a heat sink/shroud on m.2 ports?

This PCIe 4 would work in My Asus prime z270-a has m.2 with x4 PCIe 3.0?

I tried looking online for compatibility and in the manual with nothing definitive

So how would this be compared to the SX8200 on a PCIe 3.0 motherboard?

My 970 Evo Plus failed after 1 month and Samsung won't give me back my 220 or replace it because I removed the sticker (for better thermal pad contact). I'm not buying samsung again. Thanks OP bought this.

Yes - absolutely - but might not provide you a speed boost over a gen 3 version? Can't find reviews on that.

yes - if the headsink won't be in the way - that depends on your laptop, and whether or not you can remove the built in heatsink. If I were you I wouldn't gamble on a 4th gen unit with an attached heatsink since you can't use the extra speed anyway. Buy that Intel Optane 2GB for $160 that doesn't have a heatsink.
