Ordered two Mario bundles (Blast from the Past & Competitive Mario Blast). Not sure which bundle was what since the games were all together.

1 - Console would rate 8/10 condition wise. Everything works, not sure on gamepad charge. Came with everything including gamepad dock and console stands.

Other console would say it was a 6 or 7 out of 10. Some scuffs on the top of the console. Zelda gamepad. Missing sensor bar and didn't have dock or console stands like the other one did. Also fully functional.

6 games from the 2 bundles were all in good condition no scratches and only Super Mario 3D World was missing retail case and was instead in a GameStop case. Neither console smelled terrible or had creatures falling out when smacking it against a hard surface.

Got a broken cradle, frayed controller power cable and missing stylus but seems like I'm one of the lucky ones.

Did you call around for stores with inventory or could you goto any store to get a replacement part?

Ordered the Zelda Bundle and got Pikmin and Mario Kart as well. Console has some scratches but is in good condition 8/10, gamepad is in very good condition 9.5/10. System came with Smash Bros and Splatoon already downloaded on it. All games came with their case except for Hyrule Warriors. Discs had minimal to no scratching although Unfortunately Wind Waker doesn't load, I'll have to return that game.

My came in and the gamepad was dirty and the screen is scuffed and scratched. The games looked good. I am pretty disappointed, but will check power and things before I decide to return. ugh

The console I received had 3 user profiles, along with Mario Kart 8 installed. I guess one or more users were minor, thus the Parental Control was enabled. Of course, I do not know the Parental Control PIN to allow some operations.

Googling showed that https://mkey.salthax.org/ can generate the master key to unlock the system, to allow changing of Parental Control PIN, or delete all content and settings.

Since there are a lot of saved data from previous owner, I went through "delete all content and settings". After setting up from scratch, Mario Kart 8 was still available!

I was surprised. Since I have the disc for Mario Kart 8, it was easier to clean up the internal storage by deleting everything. It had lots of game data, with less than 10 GB available space left. After the deletion, I had to set up from scratch, including creating a new Mii. Everything else was gone, but MK8 was still there. I don't know if it would behave the same for others.

Perhaps it's on an SD card.

It was definitely on the internal storage. At first, I tried to delete the saved game data manually one at a time under setting. MK8 was one of those. There was no SD card nor USB storage attached. As I said earlier, MK8 survived after "delete all content and settings". I don't know why, as I was expecting it to be gone. I'm not suggesting others to try it. I'm just stating what I experienced.

the internet says that only games that came initially pre installed will remain intact after a format. games purchased through a nintendo id will be deleted

In my experience, usually it's dirt/grime on the optical drive's lens.

The best way to clean it is open up the case, and use a q-tip with a little bit of rubbing alcohol, and gently wipe it clean. It doesn't take much dirt/grime, it may even be hard to see...but if it scatters the laser light, it will cause problems.
