This is much better laptop for $650 compared to another deal posted for $500 a few days ago. This is Envy line with full HD screen, Optane memory and 4 cell battery.

Can you add memory later or is the memory soldered to the board?

this shows as $630 currently. they have a couple other models pre-configured with 12GB or 16GB (careful - one of the pre-configured models drops to an 8th gen processor without an appropriate drop in price)

previous versions of the envy x360 15 have replaceable RAM, see this service manual:

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06140010

I can't find a manual for this version but it's a good guess that it has serviceable RAM

this looks like the best deal for what I'm looking for (semi-ultrabook, long battery life, good 15" screen, high end processor) - is there anything else I should consider? I plan to get the bottom end 8GB/256GB and upgrade ram and disk later if I outgrow them

Seems like a slick deal, why is this being mostly ignored?

No USB-C charging from what I can tell. If it had it, this would be my choice as I'm in the market now.

that was my conclusion from specs also but other models of this laptop (with other chipsets) have had it (by surprise - not in specs). so maybe 80% no 20% yes? needs a test

There is no option for 1065g to choose.
How can I get 1065g and is it little better than 10510U or a significant difference?
