Great deal, though the Dec. 11th departure makes this hard to use unless you've got hella flexibility with your life and can find cheap last minute flight tickets or live in NZ.

Even if you get just the base $249 booking, taxes are $272 (at least for me) per person, and the rates are for two people so it's over $1000 total.

All of that is totally standard for cruises of course, but in case people aren't accustomed to cruise pricing, it's not so cheap as it looks.

That's not unusual for peak season coach seats to Aust/NZ. Often they are higher. Business class seats on Qantas to Sydney in peak season can run $8k from LAX. The cruise looks damn cheap once you buy the airfare!

If you are booking 4 people, you are better off doing two separate rooms/orders. Looks like they are charging you $400 each for travelers 3 and 4, instead of the $250 deal.
The port fees are really expensive on most all cruises except maybe the ones around japan.

Ahh interesting. Well I hope it's worth it to those who are closer as I'm all the way from New York

Usually 3rd and 4th person tickets should be lot chepaer than first and second. Here it is opposite .

Often 3 ed and 4th person are free.
Also keep in mind most lines bill $13- $15 a day per per person per day for tips.
Yes, you can ask that those rates be changed but crew members are paid slave wages and work long hours and depend on tips.
