1. Check your emails for the Newegg Black Friday Ultimate Sale Email-Only email.
2. Click link to go to Newegg, which lists your unique code under each discounted sale item for you to use.
These deals do not appear if you simply visit newegg.com and click on the BF link - need the email.

Saw H&R Block Deluxe + State for $19.99, so definitely getting this shipped to me free rather than waiting until March/April for last minute deals.

$69 Adobe Photoshop + Premiere Elements is decent, too.

"- One state program download included - a $39.95 value (State e-file available for $19.95 per return)"

This will be a year in which I unfortunately have to file a state income tax return.

As one who has used H&R Block for years, I'm used to just getting the software & using my 5 free Federal E-files.

Do those who use this software to file an additional state tax return have to pay an additional $19.95 just to e-file their state return??

Yes, the software only helps to prepare the tax form but you need to print out and mail it or efile for 19.95

Depends on the state. NY has a law where they can't charge for submission. I believe there are others.

In any case, I just bought mine now that the unique email code is active.

You MUST use the same email address for the order confirmation (I usually send it to a seperate account for receipts) as the email address you received the Newegg Email for the discount to take.

Anyways, they've charged for State submissions for years and years, but you are always able to print and mail both the Federal and State returns free.

You get 1 State filing plugin free, and have to pay for additional states.

But, in the end, it's about the convenience and time savings vs. refund / payment you have.

I've done the online filing for both federal and state, and the biggest benefit is simply it's quick and easy after you've finished the questions to get it all done from your desk. It's also faster than mail, especially if you want a return faster (a few weeks versus 4-6). Otherwise, it's really no effort to print, fold, stamp and mail - here, your extra cost is the envelope, stamp, and certified mail along with gas.

...

Those who don't care about storing their income tax data on their computer and make little money can always file both free if their returns aren't complex.

Thanks, Op. I had an account, but had unsubscribed to the emails. I was able to resubscribe, and was able to get to the promocode quickly to order this.

Depending on the state you may also be able to E-File online using their website too. I've done that the last two years now in Oregon and it's just copying everything from the H&R Block filled out form into the state's version of the form online and submitting it. Not very hard or time consuming.

The version is the tax year, which is 2019. You are going to file taxes for 2019.

Bought on. It's $3 more than from last year. Egg offered the same Deluxe and State version around the same time last year for $16.XX. It may not get any lower.

Turbotax is a lot better for more complicated topics. The H&R Block, even Deluxe versions, still stink for complicated situations like certain stocks & options, business, etc. Once anything gets tricky they just tell you to read the IRS docs & manually update their forms, which defeats the whole purpose.

Where is the link to go to Newegg for the promo code? Whatever I click it brings me back to this slickdeals instructions page.
